The Wheatsheaf has teamed up with Tweed Guide to offer a range of fishing packages. Guests at the Wheatsheaf can now enjoy excellent flyfishing and superb scenery on the world famous river Tweed and its tributaries.

We have guided Angling visitors to the Tweed area since 1998 and currently have fifteen guides and instructors all with local expertise.

Grayling Fishing on The Tweed

Grayling fishing on the Tweed is amongst the best in Europe with fish regularly exceeding 3 lb. The prime season in September to February. At the end of November grayling fishing is at its peak. Tweed Guide have exclusive access to a private stretch of river fishing 7 days a week with instruction and all equipment/waders/jackets etc for 3 hour or 6 hour sessions.
