Golf Passport to the Scottish Borders
The Wheatsheaf can provide you with a three-day or five-day golf passport for the Scottish Borders. The pass gives you access to 21 golf courses from Eyemouth in the east to West Linton in the west. The three-day golf passport gives you up to six rounds of golf over three consecutive weekdays or alternatively four rounds of golf over a weekend. The five-day passport gives you up to 10 rounds of golf over five consecutive weekdays or alternatively eight rounds over a weekend.
Senior Golfers over the age of 55 years are entitled to a discounted price on the golf passports. Out of the 21 courses only the championship Roxburgh golf course near Kelso and the Cardrona course near Peebles charge supplements on arrival.
Local Scottish Borders Golf Courses:
1) Coldstream (The Hirsel Golf Course): This Coldstream golf course is situated on the Hirsel Estate with good views of the Cheviot Hills. A challenging parkland golf course it combines tree-lined fairways with the river Leet running through it. It is challenging to lower handicap golfers but also for giving to those with higher handicaps.

2) Duns Golf Course: The Wellrig burn runs through the course and comes into play on several of the holes. There are 2 or 3 short climbs but otherwise the course has gentle slopes and gives lovely views of the countryside around Duns and towards the Cheviot Hills to the south.

3) Eyemouth Golf Course: Situated on the rugged east coast of Berwickshire this superb golf course offers an enjoyable challenge featuring some of the most scenic and interesting clifftop holes in Scottish golf.

4) Kelso Golf Course: Attractive parkland course at situated 3 miles from the championship Roxburghe Golf Course. Kelso is well-known for the fine condition of its greens and fairways. The original course was designed by Ben Sayers then redesigned by James Braid in 1930. The now mature 18-hole layout was opened in 1980.

5) The Roxburghe Golf Course: Voted the 5th top inland course in Scotland and rated by Golf World amongst the top 100 in Britain and Ireland. The Roxburghe is fast becoming recognised by golfers internationally. The parkland course was designed by Dave Thomas and has excellent views of the River Teviot. Home to the Charles Church Scottish Seniors Open, The Roxburghe maintains its reputation as a premier championship course.
